Brief history of the last 49 years.

Well, after AWF72 posted to RAF Chigwell, mobile calibration team on CRDF and Chain Homer !!! (not exactly" AIR" wireless gear) .Travel led all over the UK and once to Germany, then spring '56 to RAF Henlow for 6 weeks before getting exchange posting to RAF St. Eval, until Aug. '57 and posting to RAF ALDERGROVE ! (with only 4 MONTHS to serve ????). But we did get to march through Belfast with bayonets fixed before being wined and dined in the Guildhall to receive the Freedom of the City, and not many people have done that.

Demob Jan. '58. Then worked for Bush Radio at Plymouth and Redruth. Married Margaret in March 1961. Jan. '62 Mike born, Mar. '63 Steve and Sept. '64. Andrew. November 1966 moved to Paignton to work for STC, who became ITT, then back to STC and finally became NORTEL. Took early retirement in Jan. '97, best career move ever.

Mike is a wildlife artist, specialises in birds, does a lot for the RSPB for whom he worked for seven years, before going freelance. He works from home so is available a great deal of the time. He is married to Tanya, a nurse, they have a son, Adam(13) and daughter Becky(11).

Steven, second son, is a police sergeant was in the Met. before transferring to the Devon and Cornwall police and now lives at Plymstock, also near Plymouth, is married to Samantha, a Make-up artist, they have two boys, Louis(8) and Daniel(7).

Andrew, third son, went to Cranwell, spent 8 years in the R.A.F. as helicopter pilot, now flies for a firm, PDG, out of Cumbernauld and lives in Stirling. He is married to Delia, also a Make-up artist, they have three girls, Emilia(7), Alice(5) and Lily being just 3 months old.
